I'll Cast the First Stone. I'll Cast the First Stone
Just to take the attention away from me
Anything to protect my reputation
Because I feel like that's all I have, All I know
What do I look like in their eyes
Is it something desirable, or Am I nothing
What Do I Look Like in Their Eyes. What Do I Look Like in Their Eyes
I'll Cast the First Stone, Like I Am the Last One to Blame
Just to Shift Their Condemning Eyes Away
I'll Cast the First Stone, Like I Am the Last One to Blame
Just to Break Their Denouncing Gaze
Why should I wait to hear their verdict
Why do I care about who they think I should be
Why should I wait to hear their verdict
Why do I care about who they think I should be
I have been bending over backwards for every reason but the right one
I have placed value on things that don't deserve it
Now what do I look like to those who matter
Why did I waste all this time on the temporary
It's too easy to take the wrong things to heart
Especially from those who seem to have misplaced their own
I won't say that I'll never cast another stone
Or that I Am the last one to blame
But I want to stop living like anyone else's opinion
Of who I should be is a regulation in my life
I shouldn't forget there's a difference
Between living for other's approval and Just living for others.

We Came As Romans was founded during 2005 in and around
Detroit, Michigan with all of the members still attending High School. The band would go through one name change and many line-up adjustments to solidify today's current band. The band later acquired the attention of
Albany, New York Label Equal Vision Records, and were taken in with a contract to which they were signed to in 2009.
Formation and Early Years as This Emergency (2005 - 2008) : In August 2005, High School Seniors Sean N. Zelda, Dave Stephens, Jonny Nabors, Mark Myatt and Joshua Moore formed a band called
"This Emergency". Current frontman Stephens played Guitar and Keyboards during this period. They performed various shows throughout the Metro Detroit area. In November 2005, the band parted ways with Bass Player, Jonny Nabors and replaced him with Sean E. Daly. In June 2006, Zelda quit the band to attend the University of Michigan. In the summer of 2006, a close friend of the band, Larry Clark, officially joined on Vocals, and Myatt changed their name to We Came As Romans. According to Dave Stephens, during this time, two songs entitled
"Mouth To Mouth" and the original version of
"Colours" were released with Larry Clark as the Vocalist. According to the band's publicist at
Equal Vision Records, Joshua Moore assumed duties of writing the majority of the lyrics from this point on.
Demonstrations and Dreams EPs (2008 - 2009) : After the name change, they spent the next few years getting their members to the band's current line-up. Their first EP,
Demonstrations (Sometimes Referred to as the "Motions EP") was sold at concerts and online through their website. Between EPs, We Came As Romans embarked on the "V-Neck & Shaved Chest" Tour (June 2008) with
Close To Home. Afterwards,
Dreams was released on December 12, 2008. It was produced by
Joey Sturgis and was met with many favorable reviews. AbsolutePunk gave Dreams as 79/100 review. Sputnikmusic gave them a 3.5/5. They called the EP "Short and Sweet, But Lasting and Fulfilling". Two days before the release of
To Plant A Seed, We Came As Romans concluded support of
Oh, Sleeper and
The Chariot on their Co-Headlining "Here A Tour, There A Tour, Everywhere A Tour Tour" Tour (September - November 2009).
